We're still talking about Will Smith's controversial "Oscars slap" nearly two years later, but Jada Pinkett Smith has now revealed her most shocking moment of the horrific moment.
This comes after Jada disclosed, in advance of the publication of her new book Worthy, that she and her husband Will have been "secretly separated" for the previous seven years.
Now, back to the Oscars. The 2022 Academy Awards left spectators surprised when Will, the candidate for Best Actor, slapped Chris Rock across the face while presenting the Best Documentary Feature award.
A joke about Jada's shaved head—which she has been shaving since 2012 due to alopecia—made the 55-year-old man turn back to his seat and yell, "Keep my wife's name out of your f**king mouth."
In the biographical drama King Richard, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor won the Best Actor Oscar later that night for his depiction of Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams.

Will expressed regret for his actions to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and his fellow nominees during his acceptance speech, but he did not apologize to Chris.
But for Jada, personally, that wasn't the most surprising thing that happened that night—not even "the slap heard across the world."
Rather, she has disclosed that the thing that startled her the most was Will calling her "his wife," something he hadn't done in years.
In an NBC interview, the actress and talk show presenter reminisced about the occasion while promoting her new memoir.
“First of all, I’m really shocked, because mind you, I’m not there. We haven’t called each other husband and wife in a long time,” Jada told Hoda Kotb.
“I’m like, ‘What is going on right now? Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth?’ I’m really worried for Will because I don’t know what’s going on.”
She also discussed her feelings on the joke in which Chris casually called her G.I. Jane.
“I did that eye roll not so much for me — and I think this is really important — but the fact that there could be a jab at alopecia,” she said.
Jada revealed that after the event, during a commercial break, Rock approached her and expressed regret for his remarks, but she was more preoccupied with what happened with Will.
As was previously said, Jada recently disclosed that she and Will had been divorced since 2016, despite continuing to project the image of a contented married pair in the years that followed.
Regarding their current relationship, she stated: “We’re still figuring it out. We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got a deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”
The revelation surrounding Will Smith's "Oscars slap" incident and Jada Pinkett Smith's personal details have made the ongoing story much more complex. Their disclosure of a secret separation and Will Smith's unexpected use of the term "wife" shed light on their private struggles as a couple.
For nearly two years, this story has fascinated the public, highlighting the personal challenges and complexities that even celebrities experience. It serves as a reminder that fame doesn't shield anyone from life's struggles.
